Drop a file on the Mac. It lands on the phone.

Drag files into the FuseOS window, up to 1 GB each. Every file is checked with SHA-256 when it arrives, and you can cancel partway through.

Apple devices have always passed things to each other. An Android phone next to a Mac never could. FuseOS adds that link.

How it moves

Nothing you copy touches our server.

The server only signs you in and tells your devices where to find each other. Clips and files go straight from one device to the other over your own Wi-Fi, encrypted with keys that exist only on those two devices.

Both are free. Install one on each device and sign in with the same account. They'll find each other.

  1. 1Open the DMG and drag FuseOS into Applications.
  2. 2Open it once. macOS blocks it, because the preview isn't notarized by Apple yet.
  3. 3Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. You only have to do this once.
  4. 4When it asks to find devices on your local network, click Allow. That's how your phone reaches your Mac.

  1. 1Download the APK on your phone and open it.
  2. 2If Android asks, allow your browser to install unknown apps. FuseOS isn't on the Play Store yet.
  3. 3Sign in, then allow notifications. They show when a file arrives, and they keep FuseOS connected in the background.
  4. 4Add the Send clipboard tile to Quick Settings. Then sending your clipboard is one pull and one tap.

This is an early preview. Both devices need to be on the same Wi-Fi. Found something broken? Open an issue.

Questions

Good to know.

Does my clipboard go to the cloud?+

No. Clips and files go straight from one device to the other over your Wi-Fi, encrypted with AES-256-GCM using keys that only your two devices hold. The server never receives them, so there's nothing of yours for it to store.

Why is sending from Android a tap and not automatic?+

Since Android 10, only the app on screen can read the clipboard. So FuseOS watches for the moment you tap Copy, and a pop-up offers to send it — one tap, and you keep Gboard. Copying on the Mac needs no tap at all.

Why does macOS warn me when I first open it?+

Apple only removes that warning for apps signed through its paid developer program. The preview isn't enrolled yet, so you confirm it once in Privacy & Security and it won't ask again.

Do my devices have to be on the same Wi-Fi?+

Yes, for now. That's what keeps it fast and keeps your data off the internet. Syncing between different networks is planned.

Can my Mac unlock my phone?+

No — Android lets no app past its own lock screen, so unlocking the Mac only wakes the phone. The other way works: unlock the phone next to the Mac and the Mac unlocks. That part is experimental and opt-in: the Mac keeps your password in its Keychain and types it at the lock screen.

Is it open source?+

Yes. The Android app, the Mac app and the server are all on GitHub.
